Pilates
was created by Joseph Pilates who was born in Germany in 1880.
As a child he suffered from rickets, asthma and rheumatic fever.
To help him overcome these illnesses he developed his own set
of exercises to give his body the perfect balance of strength
and flexibility.
The Pilates method of exercise is a unique system
of core stability work combined with general stretching and
strengthening exercises. It is often described as having a mind-body
connection and involves re-learning correct human movement patterns
and relocating “forgotten” muscles! To do this requires
thought and concentration and not mindless exercise.
Classes are
held on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, more details
are available by following

Fitness Pilates - exercises for
general conditioning and lifestyle benefits
Clinical Pilates is the combination
of the original Pilates exercises and incorporates well-established
physiotherapy concepts. It uses the original mat work exercises
but minimises the possible harmful effects of the original exercises,
that may be too rigorous for injured people or those who are
new to Pilates.
