Pilates
 

Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates who was born in Germany in 1880. As a child he suffered from rickets, asthma and rheumatic fever.

To help him overcome these illnesses he developed his own set of exercises to give his body the perfect balance of strength and flexibility.

The Pilates method of exercise is a unique system of core stability work combined with general stretching and strengthening exercises.

The benefits of the Pilates method of training include:-

  • better posture
  • less incidence of back pain
