Older Adult

Many age related changes, that were once assumed to be solely the result of the ageing process, are partly the result of disease, and inactivity. There is no reason why you can't stay healthy as you age. Studies have shown that exercise is important for promoting good health, functional independence, and quality of life in older adults. "Use it or lose it" is definitely the modern maxim.

It is clearly recognised that numerical age is of limited importance in comparison with gender, heredity, health and lifestyle factors.

As a YMCA Specialist Exercise teacher, Barbara is trained in the area of health-related exercise with regard to the older adult, and has the necessary experience to develop both individual and class based exercises. This demands a thorough understanding of the ageing process and its implications for giving exercise related advice.

Classes are held on a Wednesday morning at Northwich Memorial Hall. The aim of the class is to improve your strength, balance and mobility, so why not come along and join us for a no obligation trial and a chat.
